Lift the Veil

pc:Pricilla De-Pree

Chiffon blows
Softly in the wind
Sunlight reaches
Ivory fabric thin

Thin Enough
To keep me From You
To obscure my face
And distort my view

But a whisper comes
From deep within,
“Lift the veil dear-one,
Take courage
Lift the veil and
Let Me in
Into the corners of your soul
I’m the One who can make you whole.

Let Me in
To spaces left untouched
Piled high with dusty stuff
Memories and mistakes
Brushed under pretty
Things hard to see
That you’re still forgetting

Let Me see fragments of
Forgotten dreams,
Half drowned by sorrows song
Many precious broken things
And relationships long gone

Let Me hold your
Questions left by an empty crib
And the heart
That longed to carry his

Let Me tend
The graveside tears
And arms that ache
To have him near

Let My presence
Sink in slow
Washing your heart and
Settling your soul
I am the one
Who will never let go.

I will stay
When the others have gone
I will sing
When you’ve lost your song

Lift the veil dear one
And let Me in
Receive My love
All over again.”

2 Corinthians 3:17

But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
