Something Unexpected

Is it a weed?
I pondered
But it looked familiar
So I left it
And it grew…
In my composted
Dirt filled flower garden
And it grew some more
Strong and scraggly
Entwined in my pink paper poppies
Interrupting my row of English daisies
Until at last,
Tiny yellow flowers appeared
Which gave birth to
Baby green tomatoes
The dirt I thought was just dirt
Held seed I couldn’t see,
Just like this heart inside of me
Only my maker knows what is there
And He will tend it in His care.
