Regroup
Hope Writer Challenge Day 1 -Regroup
When the kids were little we often used manipulatives to teach them math. These little yellow cubes were useful for teaching counting and became especially important in understanding the concept of regrouping. We would take the ten bar and by breaking it into ten individual cubes we could then move them into different piles to subtract. Regrouping in a larger sense is similar. It is looking at circumstances and reorganizing the way we think about them. Thinking about things differently often provides a way through. Where once we were stuck, now we can move. Reframing how we see things is often vital to continuing the good work God has called us to do. When we are tired we start to loose perspective and the way looks bleak. God does not call us to a life of monotonous drudgery. He does not force us to keep going. In fact sometimes he calls us to rest and regroup. Like the coach on the sidelines he invites us to come near so he can he tend our wounds and meet our needs. He reminds us he is still in control and is taking care of things . He calls the shots and is in control. His timing is perfect and he won’t let go. So, as September begins and a new school year launches perhaps it’s a perfect time to reflect and regroup. What things in our lives are life giving and what things are not? In what ways is God calling us to regroup, draw near and get the perspective we need?
