Beautiful One
Today
You called me,
Beautiful One
But the words
Bounced
Back.
My heart
Had trouble
Receiving
That name.
Those other
Not so nice,
Names,
Are easier
To believe.
They stick fast,
Sink deep
Pile up and
Define me.
But you say
It again,
Beautiful One
And invite me
To receive
Your name
And
Blessing.
The winter is over.
It’s time for spring.
It’s time to see
The beautiful things
That have been
Buried deep.
It’s time
For buds
To turn
Towards the sun,
And open fully
To the Risen One.
To accept
Your love,
And receive
Grace,
To look long
And be changed
By Your
Lovely face.
For no matter
What has been
Said or done,
You say,
I will
Always be ,
Your
Beautiful one.
“My beloved spoke and said to me, “Arise, my darling, my beautiful one, come with me. See! The winter is past; the rains are over and gone. Flowers appear on the earth…Arise, come, my darling; my beautiful one, come with me.””
Song of Songs 2:10-13 NIV
