A Better Day

 Tomorrow will be a better day,

Because it doesn’t depend

on me,

My tomorrow rests

with You.

 

Tomorrow will be a better day,

Because You promise to make,

All things, even me,

brand new.

 

You take my broken,

And mend it.

You take my empty,

And fill it.

You take my impossible,

And say, possible.

You take the bad,

And make it good,

Turning things bitter

Into things sweet,

Over and over again.

 

The crazy thing is

Nothing, not one thing,

Is ever too hard, too much,

too old, too gone, too dead

For You,

Stepped out of the grave

Gave life

To my dead heart

And told me,

That my story is not over

That it has only just begun,

And that actually

the best, most beautiful part

is still yet to come.

 

So no matter what lies ahead

or what I have been through,

Tomorrow will be a better day

Because it doesn’t depend on me

My tomorrow rests with You.
