Psalms 18:28

It’s dark,
And hard to see.

But, Your word says,
That You will keep
My lamp burning
Even when I feel like
It’s flickering out.

You turn my darkness
Into light because
Even the
Darkness is not
Dark to you.

It is not unknown,
Scary or unexpected.
You knew before it
All happened and
You know when
It will end.

As for You,
Your way is perfect and
You never stumble or fall.
Who is God besides you?

Who else can
Call out the stars and
Knows them by name?
Who else is
Solid as granite and will
Never ever change?

My words, they
Often miss and
Hurt and
Don’t do the job,
But your word,
It is flawless,
It always hits
The spot
And always meets
The need.
Your presence
Is a shield
To me.

I stand behind You
As You lead me on.
Mighty warrior
safe and strong.

I’m going to
stick with You,
My God of light.
Thank you for
Carrying me all
Through the night.
