Time for Tea

By Susie Teramura

 Porcelain teacup

Painted pretty,

Tiny pink rosebuds

And a golden rim,

Tea kettle sings

 To the tune

I’m ready,

As slowly, and surely,

the water pours in,

And the tea bag

soaks …

And steeps ..

Until the water

Is tea.

Just what Your presence

Does to me.

Your love,

Pure water runs

Into my cup,

Swirls down below

And fills me up.

And I soak, and steep,

And sit very still,

Till every part

Of my cracked

Heart is filled.

And before I know it,

Or can even see

Joyful, delight!

In You, I am me.

2 Corinthians 3:18

…our lives gradually become brighter and more beautiful as God enters our lives and we become like him.(Msg)

  1. Susie,
The comfort of a cup of tea! (I love chai tea — you didn’t tell us your favorite flavor?! I love the spice and vanilla together — divine!) I love your comparison of the cracks in us being filled with God’s goodness. Especially last week when I had a little meltdown and felt all the worst of me pouring out and yet, the best of him fills me up and lets me know he still loves me, no matter what. Happiest of Easters to you, dearest friend! xo

    1. Hi Valerie 🙂 I like English breakfast tea best! Boring I know but I love loose tea really and something about that with a little lemon and sugar is so yum! I am sorry you had a meltdown ! Having a few myself this week and can totally relate! Being in his presence and experiencing His love is always a game changer for me! 🙂 I need it every minute of the day it seems lately! Hugs and Happy Easter to you too!! He is Risen!! yay!!

  2. Such beautiful pictures you paint with your words! I love the thought of waiting, silent & still, to be transformed! Thank you for sharing these thoughts today!

    1. Hi Bettie! Thanks for visiting me today ! 🙂 Waiting is so hard for me- but so good when I sit in His presence and let His love into all the hidden hard places. He brings His light and love and makes it all better! Have a very Happy Easter! 🙂

  3. So beautiful, Susie. This part really brought me to tears:

    “And I soak, and steep,

    And sit very still,

    Till every part

    Of my cracked

    Heart is filled.”

May we be steeped in Him! Something to pray about as I steep my tea. 🙂

    Have a joy-filled Easter! Hugs!

    1. Hi Trudi 🙂 I am so glad He spoke to you through these words! His presence is a safe place to sit and steep – knowing that He is love and that I am His makes it all better! Sending much love and easter hugs your way!! xo
