I am Glad

Year of Spark gesso-1

I am Glad

By Susie Teramura

I am

Glad

That You

Are here,

And that You

Understand and

Know me.

That I am safely

Kept,

In Your

Love,

And that all my

Ugly parts,

Parts in progress,

Parts still not right,

Are tucked

In You,

Protected there.

I am glad

That You are

In charge,

Master of

The symphony,

Artist who guides

The brush.

And that

You are

Making something

Beautiful of

The pieces.

I am glad

That I don’t have to

Worry,

Or control,

Or make sense

Of it all.

I can rest

In Your care,

And lean

With confidence

On Your

Strong shoulder.

And when I am

Discouraged,

And wonder

What’s up,

And doubt

If this whole big mess

Is really on its way

To something beautiful,

All I need to do

Is to

Look up,

Into Your face,

Strong and true,

And trust

In You,

My good, good Father,

That’s who

You are,

And I am

Loved by You.

Psalm 42:5

Why, my soul, are you downcast?

Why so disturbed within me?

Put your hope in God,

for I will yet praise him,

my Savior and my God.

Psalm 34:5

Those who look to him are radiant;

their faces are never covered with shame.

Isaiah 61:7

Instead of your shame

you will receive a double portion,

and instead of disgrace

you will rejoice in your inheritance.

And so you will inherit a double portion in your land,

and everlasting joy will be yours.

  1. Sweet words, He loves us so. I love your cut out big blooms, if you can do that at a fast pace I can’t wait to see what develops as you move along in this class!

  2. Hi Susie,
Oh I love that song “Good Good Father,” by Chris Tomlin, don’t you? I’ve been thinking lately how God just asks us to trust him, and how often I let what’s in front of me — the only things I can see — guide my faith and trust in him, instead of completely giving up control of what I can see and believing that there’s far more than meets my eyes. I just think trusting him demonstrates that we DO think he is a good good father! I love Psalm 42:5 too! xoxo

    1. Hi Valerie! Yes I do too!! I wanted to add it at the end of my post but couldn’t figure out how in time! God has been using that song lots in my life lately. I agree on trusting him!- well said! I write these posts to speak truth to my own soul lots of times- I want to trust him with all I have, but struggle to do it a lot- Thanks for understanding and sharing your thoughts with me! sending hugs

  3. Susie, you sound discouraged and yet clinging to the Father’s plan. Yes, sometimes we wonder how can messes ever turn into something beautiful. I, too, daily need to look into the Father’s face and trust. Sometimes I have to cry, “Lord, I trust. Please help me to overcome my distrust!” Thank you for encouraging me today. Blessings and hugs to you!

  4. Hi Trudi! Yes I write these posts to speak truth to my own soul so often. It helps me to write out Gods truth. Somehow my heart hears it better when I write. Thanks for understanding and sharing. I prayed your prayer earlier today when a situation that has felt so stuck for so long was bothering me again. Thanks for your wise and helpful words! xox
