ABC Adoration

ABC Adoration

By Susie Teramura

Adore You

Beautiful, You

Creator of all I see

My Delight

Excellent in all you do,

Famous One yet

So Good to me,

Hope wrapped in flesh

Indescribable gift,

Jesus you are

Kind and

Loving towards the least of these,

Towards Me,

Nothing withheld,

Opened  arms wide,

Pouring out your blood

Quietly You

Re- storied me

Safe now,

Tucked in

Under Your wings,

Very close to your heart

X-traordinarily loved

Zoe, life, now in me.

John 14: 20

I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.

Psalm 61:4

I long to dwell in your tent forever and take refuge in the shelter of your wings.

Psalm 18:19 (NIV)

 He brought me out into a spacious place;

he rescued me because he delighted in me.

At bedtime we have been praying an ABC adoration prayer. We go through the alphabet and think of all the great things we love about God and tell Him so! It has been good for my soul to pray this way before I list all my troubles. Somehow when we are done the troubles don’t seem so big. When we increase our view of God our earthly troubles fade in His shadow and rightly so for nothing is too big or hard or complicated for our Father. That’s the beauty of prayer and praise and why I think He calls us to it; to set our minds on Him. He is the perfect place to find all we are longing for.

  1. I love this – what a wonderful way to pray at night going through the alphabet thinking of qualities of God – I will try it – also I think this could be a lovely piece to be done in calligraphy and hung on wall

  2. I really love this, Susie. Every line. What a wonderful thing to practice with your children. And even by ourselves to remember what great things He has done for us. This line jumped out at me – “When we increase our view of God our earthly troubles fade in His shadow and rightly so for nothing is too big or hard or complicated for our Father.” Oh, how very true! NOTHING is too big for our God! As always, I love your drawing, too. 🙂 Blessings and hugs to you!

  3. Susie,
How ADORABLE are your letters! Will you share the rest of the alphabet with us or are you working on them as you go along? What a beautiful exercise (for so many reasons) to think of all the ways we love God or how he is so good to us. I can only imagine how it probably encouraged you! I think that might be a good idea for me (I’ll just take one letter to start with) and do a little art in my Bible journal (that has been sitting silent since Italy!) and choose a verse that goes along with it. I kind of like long-range projects and this might just be the one that keeps me going — LOVE IT! xoxo

  4. Hi Valerie- I am so happy you like my letters – I have only done these – I might do an alphabet book for my individual project for this class though- 🙂 and will be happy to share when I do them. That sounds like such a great idea!! I love it and hope you will share your work too!! I would love to see it – Looking forward to reading your post in a bit- It looked like it was about art 🙂 Thanks for your encouragement – It always lifts my day! xoxo
