Coffee for Your Heart- Rainy Morning Song

Rainy day sketches #1

Rainy Morning Song

 By Susie Teramura

Eyes open slow

To a grey sky and

The smell of earth and

Wet leaves

Another rainy morning

To snuggle in

Close to Your heart

And slow a bit,

To hear the rhythm

Of large drops

Hitting the roof

 And to know

That I am

Held near

To Your heart.

Safe and warm,

 You draw me in

And serve up words

Like tea

 To drink,

That start off

Slow and sweet,

But then make

Their way down

Inside of me

Filling up my insides

With more of You.

Bringing me strength

To start the day.

You satisfy me

In the morning,

And waken my ear

To Your lovely voice,

And teach me to listen

Like one being taught,

Like one who

Needs You

To show me

The way,

To navigate

The bumps

In this day,

Like one who

Needs to be

That You are

And You are

With me,

And can be

And that You are

Holding me,

And helping me,

 That we

Will do this day

In You,

I am victorious,

No matter what.

And the rain

Keeps coming,

It’s pouring down,

And drop

After drop

I see,

Your love

Like an

 Isaiah 50:4

The Sovereign Lord has given me a well-instructed tongue, to know the word that sustains the weary. He wakens me morning by morning, wakens my ear to listen like one being instructed.

 Psalm 90:14

Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.

 Psalm 143:8

Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life.

Psalm 20:6

Now this I know: The Lord gives victory to his anointed. He answers him from his heavenly sanctuary with the victorious power of his right hand.

  1. Hi Paris!! Thanks for loving my turtle 🙂 and thats a great name- I love it- was thinking they need names. Thanks for your encouragement and connecting with me today! Always a joy to me 🙂 Have a blessed day too! hugs

  2. “Your love like an umbrella covers me.” Such a comfort! Such beautiful encouragement again as always, Susie. Also your always meaningful choice of Bible promises.

I have included your link in my “What’s New This Month” post and will include it on my Hope Harbor page. 🙂

    1. Hi Trudi 🙂 Thanks so much for including my link on your blog! I am very honored and blessed that you would do that. I have found so much hope and encouragement from your blog! God has really ministered to me through you and your words of hope! Thanks so much! xoxo

  3. Susie, Oh my goodness you have a new blog banner — LOVE IT! “Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love . . . ” is one of my favorite verses — I have it in my phone as one I read often! Rainy mornings are quite cozy aren’t they, to just spend a few extra minutes thinking of how much God cares for us, and I love the idea of his love covering us like an umbrella. I wish Florida offered more rainy mornings – -they are rare, for our rain usually occurs in the hot afternoons – but you made me wish for a rainy morning! xo

  4. The large drops hitting the roof – and the drip, drip – I love those mornings when I can listen to the rain and in the listening, hear him! Beautiful poetry, Susie – perfect for this rainy season we’re in!

  5. Valerie!- Yes!! I worked on my blog a little bit- I am so glad you like it- That makes me happy! ( new to all this blogging stuff- and challenged in these areas hahah!- but yay no ads now and a new banner—progress!) I love rainy mornings as long as i don’t have to get out of bed quickly and can have the slow mornings they seem to make- 🙂 Florida sounds so pretty! sending love! xo
