Coffee for Your Heart- Everyday Love

Everyday Love

By Susie Teramura

Busy day

And full,

Of stuff,

Urgent and

Needed,

Moment by moment,

Fires

To put out.

From blood work

To get.

Today,

To washing machines

Foaming out

All over

Everything,

Mind busy,

Consumed,

Coping,

And yet,

You have been here,

The whole day.

Right here,

Next to me.

Breathing in,

Every moment

Beside me,

Holding me,

Seeing me through,

Understanding each piece,

Even the ones I don’t,

You are

My helper,

You want to

Be involved

In my stuff,

To wash

My dirty,

To put back

In order

My chaos,

To fix

My broken,

To be strength

When

Mine is gone,

I sigh deep

As the sun

Sinks low,

And tears

Start to flow,

And then comes

The best part

Of the day

The house,

Quiets,

And all I hear

Is You,

And I am

Welcomed,

And loved,

Your arms

Spread wide,

Then fold

Around me

Like a blanket,

And in this

Safe place

My heart rests,

And my day

Melts away.

And You remind me

That heavenly gain

Has been made today,

That in the serving,

And giving,

And lowering,

I am looking a bit

More like you.

With a big grin,

I look back

At Your beautiful face,

Staring at mine,

I belong to You,

The one

who never changes,

Sealed and

Kept for all time.

Ephesians 1:13

When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit,

Hebrews 13:8

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

John 13:5

After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around him.

1John 3:2

Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.

 Matthew 6:20

But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.

Another try at making an elephant! 🙂 We have been away, dropping our two oldest ones at college. It has been a crazy week and I haven’t had a chance to do a lot of art -I have been working on her for a while though. 😉

Coffee for Your Heart- Open Wide

Watercolor class bee

Open Wide

By Susie Teramura

The morning air

Blows ripples

Across the little lake,

Sky so blue

It seems endless,

Large green leaves

Wrap themselves around

Thick stalks

Decorated with

Frilly purple Flowers,

 Covering the bank,

 Fat, fuzzy bumble bees and

Aqua colored dragonflies dart

Back and forth.

Our basket full,

Blueberry muffins warm,

Wrapped in sugar and a red

Dishtowel,

Bibles tucked in too.

We load into the old

Jon boat and push off into the

Cool water.

We paddle out to the deeper parts.

Soaking up the sun,

We feast on muffins and

Your word,

Getting our fill,

Letting goodness

Find its way to

Our deepest parts,

Bringing nourishment,

And growth.

Our most important

Meal of the day,

Served up in

Black ink on thin paper.

Your word sinks in

And becomes a part of us,

Making us strong and sure,

Binding our hearts to You,

Reminding us

That we are Yours,

And from that place of belonging,

That settled place,

We are freed up to

Receive all

Of today’s gifts,

However they come.

If we open wide,

You will fill.

Out of the corner

Of our eyes,

We catch a glimpse,

A green, grey striped, bass,

Jumps up, mouth stretched wide,

Grabbing his breakfast too

Beautiful morning,

Beautiful You!

John 6:35

Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.

Deuteronomy 8:3

…Man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.

Psalm 81:10

I am the Lord your God, who brought you up out of Egypt. Open wide your mouth and I will fill it.

Coffee for Your Heart- Morning Prayer

Summer Camp Day two Watercolor peach-Assignment one

Morning Prayer

By Susie Teramura

Thank you for,

A new day

A day where

You are,

And where You

Have already been,

Your footprints

Are all over it,

For you have prepared

The way for me,

You promise to

Go ahead of me,

And to make

My path clear,

To make the crooked,

Straight

To be light,

In my dark

My unknown,

Known by You,

My questions answered,

And held in

Your strong arms.

This is the day

You have made,

You have fashioned it

With Your hands,

And thought through it

With Your mind,

And You promise

To walk through it

With me,

Helping me through

The rough patches,

Holding my hand in

The scary places,

And when the road clears,

And the view starts

To look beautiful,

You hoist me up

So I can have a better look,

To behold the good

And soak there,

You remind me

That this is where

We are headed,

And that this glimpse

Is just that,

A glimpse,

A taste,

An appetizer,

A preview

Of what’s to come,

And You tell me again

Better things are ahead,

And that the best is yet to come.

Because there is

Always more of You.

And You are taking me

To my perfect home,

With You.

This new day

Is another chapter

In the story

Of our journey

Another page that says

You are faithful

And will be faithful

To the end.

Psalm 118:24

This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.

Isaiah 30:21

Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.”

Luke 3:5

Every valley shall be filled in, every mountain and hill made low. The crooked roads shall become straight, the rough ways smooth.

Deuteronomy 31:8

The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”

John 14:1-4

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God [a]; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.”

Green Peas

Llama, bee, peas sketchbook-3

This is just a page from the small sketchbook I carry in my purse. I haven’t had much time for my art as things have been so busy at our home. We are in the midst of getting two kids ready for college 😦 as well as preparing to teach two more from home 🙂 but thought I could share this. I like to eat these raw in the summer time very yummy and sweet :)-( i guess I like to draw and eat food 🙂 )
