Coffee For your Heart- Oh How You Glow

Oh How You Glow

By Susie Teramura

Dusk sets in

Fire glows,

Laughter and talk

Of burnt marshmallows and

Where the chocolate went,

Yellow orange moon,

Rises over the

Quiet lake

Making reflections

Of itself

The little ones

Chase fireflies

And capture them

In jars,

To glow.

And I think of You

And how You

Glow.

Your beauty

And Your good ideas

Showing up all over,

Making a moon, so

We won’t be left

In the dark,

Placing us

In families,

So we won’t be left

Alone,

And so we can find

Our way,

It was Your idea,

All You,

To make bugs,

That light up

Trees like Christmas morning,

Just to hear

Your little ones,

Joy.

It was You who

Fashioned strawberries

So sweet and beautiful

For us to

Make into pie,

To share,

To multiply,

Your blessings,

Over the top goodness ,

Pouring out

And over

All of us,

Over and

Over again,

Filling us up,

Filling me up,

And leaving me,

Craving more of You.

Psalm 34:8

Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him

Psalm 145:16

You open your hand and satisfy the desires of every living thing.

Psalm 145:9

The Lord is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made.

  1. Loved your camellia and magnolia on the paper bags, magnolia is my favorite… Oh How You Glow is a beautiful word picture for the heart – He does satisfy us and leave us longing for more of Him all at the same time!

  2. Susie,
Beautiful! Fireflies and moonlight and marshmallows (and chocolate too!) are just the perfect images of a summer night. And remembering who made the moon and the strawberries makes these moments even sweeter. Isn’t it amazing that more we fill up on God’s goodness, the more we crave him? I’ve been considering these very thoughts this past week! This counterintuitive world of God’s is so different than what we’re conditioned to think. Considering his over the top goodness as you’ve written is what truly brings us what our hearts desire! Another lovely post to evoke our sweetest thoughts of him! xoxo

    1. Hi Valerie- 🙂 Yes it is crazy and wonderful how that works?!!- That we are full but there is more so much, much, more! and the best is yet to come- God is just so beautiful and creative – what an amazing privledge to be wanted and chosen by Him and called His own! sending hugs! 🙂
