Coffee For Your Heart- Goodbyes

heirloom gardens- rose

By SusieTeramura

I am

Finding myself

In a long season

Of goodbyes,

Of friends moving

Across country,

Leaving prints

On my heart,

Of cancer winning,

And days counted,

Of children leaving,

Making their way

Into the world,

Of heartbeats silent

And ultrasound screens

Shut off for good,

In this season of loss,

When relationships and people

Slip out of my hands

In ways they shouldn’t

When the irreplaceable

Is taken

And my heart

Is left aching

I run to you

The one who wraps

My hurts,

Tenderly winding them

In a love-covering of tears

And then

Holds me,

And holds me,

Until I can

Hold it no longer.

You take the pain,

And the end pieces

Left raw,

And promise healing,

And beauty,

And a peace that passes

Earthly understanding.

You are

The one I will

Never have to

Say goodbye to,

The one

Who will never leave,

Or get sick or broken

The one who

Will always be bigger,

And stronger.

And will always

Carry me

And my load.

Abba father,

My daddy who

Has my back,

And is always watching

And is always free

To comfort me.

And You made

A way that our

Goodbyes are

Not real ends,

Just pauses,

Just a going ahead,

Just a,“See you later,”

Not the final gavel dropped.

Because of you, Jesus,

Death is defeated

And we are set free.

So in this season

When it is difficult to see

And eyes are swollen, red,

When the goodbyes keep coming,

I will cling to you,

And walk in the way of truth.

You are the one

Who carries me through.

Psalm 116:5

The Lord is gracious and righteous; our God is full of compassion.

2 Corintians 5:3

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort,

Isaiah 66:13

I will comfort you there as a little one is comforted by its mother.,

Psalm 139:9-11(NIV)

If I rise on the wings of the dawn,

if I settle on the far side of the sea,

even there your hand will guide me,

your right hand will hold me fast.

Deuteronomy 33:12

“Let the beloved of the Lord rest secure in him, for he shields him all day long, and the one the Lord loves rests between his shoulders.”

I John 5:20

We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true by being in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.

Cereal Box Journals

heirloom gardens - rosejournals--1fish journali am journalflower journal

These are journals that I like making out of cereal boxes!(Sorry the pictures aren’t the best- they are kind of hard to scan)  It takes a lot of time because of the many steps involved but they are fun and a good way to re-use boxes! I am working now on a small one (an orzo box) that I think will be good to put my favorite Bible verses in. My 6 year old likes the fishy journal best 🙂 If you are interested in how I make them so you can make one of your own let me know!  or if you would like me to make you one I’d be very happy to !:) Be blessed today knowing you are loved and held and seen. Our Heavenly Father’s heart for you is bigger than the sun! 🙂

Coffee for Your Heart- Graduation Day

Graduation Day

By Susie Teramura

There she stands

White cap and gown

Tassel swings 2015

Back and forth

Eyes sparkling,

Brown hair pushed

To the side,

Ready to receive

Her diploma,

And all the promise

That it holds,

And all that

You hold for her.

It’s time to celebrate,

To reflect, and count,

Your faithfulness in years,

And in papers, tests,

And quizzes,

In soccer tournaments, church trips,

And in friendships,

Lost and won,

Your faithfulness 17 years long,

Bringing us to this place,

This marker,

This end,

And its new beginning.

Making her way to the stage,

My eyes puddle up,

By her beauty,

And grace,

And at the story You

Are writing on her life.

For the privilege

Of being a part of

The beginning pages.

This precious one,

Entrusted to us,

To care for,

Every wrinkle

and crevice,

To wash her little feet,

And the ketchup

Off her cheeks.

To dry her tears,

And wrap her

Boo boos in love,

And princess Band-Aids,

To have been there

For the firsts,

And the lasts.

And I stand there

Holding back the tears,

The deluge that wants to come,

At the thought

Of letting go

And all that it means,

But then

You bring this to mind,

“It’s time,

She’s ready,

And she’s Mine.

Like a flower in bloom,

It’s her time

To shine

To be my fragrance to a world

That so desperately needs it.

It’s time to share

Me through her

Out there.

I will be with her

Helping her grow

I will care for her

It’s time

To let go.”

My eyes pool as

Her name is read loud

Filling the auditorium

With cheers and shouts

She steps into the light

Beaming with joy,

A new chapter begins,

Tears and blessings

continue to flow

hope cracks open

And rises slow

Forever and from the start,

she has always

and will always

have my heart .

 2 Corinthians 2:15

For we are to God the pleasing aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing.

2 Corinthians 2:14 (msg)

In the Messiah, in Christ, God leads us from place to place in one perpetual victory parade. Through us, he brings knowledge of Christ. Everywhere we go, people breathe in the exquisite fragrance. Because of Christ, we give off a sweet scent rising to God, which is recognized by those on the way of salvation—an aroma redolent with life

Jeremiah 29:11 (msg.)

I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for.

Heirloom Tomatoes

Coffee for Your Heart- You are My Help

ice cream cake

You are My Help

By Susie Teramura

The to- do list bulges,

And pushes,

Spilling into a

To do

With pages

And tabs

And notes now

Scribbled down,

So as not to forget,

And before I can cross

One thing off

5 more things

Are added,

Like bunnies

Multiplying at light speed,

And then the needs

Coming from places

Not meant for lists

From places of the heart

Coming out

In tears and anger,

And hurts longing

For healing,

Reminding me that

I am out of control

That I cannot fix

These broken things

And broken ones-

My limited resources

And views

And own scarred places

Stretched thin-

Worn through

And not enough.

This is where

I find you again

Pulling me out

From under the pile

You remind me

Where my help

Comes from.

My help

Comes from

God of all the universe,

Maker of the skies,

And sea,

And even, me

You, God, promise

To help me,

To assist me,

To provide

All that I need,

Every bit.

You are

Beside me,

In me,

And all

Around me,

Limitless God.

Not bound by time or strength,

Able to make

Something out of nothing,

You are making

A way for me.

With you God

All things are possible.

You enable me,

And invite me,

To watch you work,

You make

My hands skilled,

You make

My words wise,

You make

My heart kind,

And provide patience

Once again,

And at then end of the day

When I am

Exhausted and fall

In a heap,

On my pillow hard,

I find you near

Loving me,

Singing me to sleep with

The sweetness

Of your voice,

And  your gentle presence,

You, God,

Are my help

My everything,

Staring at that list again,

My heart begins to lift.

And I cannot help but

Begin to laugh a bit.

This list

Is in your hands,

And I am too,

As are those precious

Ones of mine,

I breathe deep

And smile

It’s all going

To turn out

Just fine.

My God will

Come through again

He is always on time!

The Lord is with me; he is my helper.

Hebrews 13:6

So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid.

Blessed are you Israel! Who is like you, a people saved by the Lord? He is your shield and helper and your glorious sword.

Deuteronomy 33:26

“There is no one like the God of (Jeshurun) who rides across the heavens to help you and on the clouds in his majesty.

Psalm 46:5

“God is within her. She will not fall. God will help her at break of day!”

Year of the Spark- Camel and Llama

photo 3photo 2photo 4photo 5

I made a few more wire wrapped animals that I thought to share. Both camels and llamas have very beautiful eyes that always make them look so friendly! (I have heard that this is not the case!) Anyway I found some really interesting and wonderful yarn on sale which gave me the idea to make them.  🙂

Coffee for Your Heart- My Cup of Tea

My Cup of Tea

By Susie Teramura

Cucumber sandwiches

Dressed with

A sprig of

Fresh dill,

Decorate the flowered plate

With a golden rim.

It is time

For tea again.

Time to sit,

And sip,

To slow and

Be with You,

To enjoy Your presence,

Over a chocolate chip scone,

And to let Your words,

And ways,

Soak and steep,

 And become my own.

In Your presence

Is fullness

Of joy

Not a little,

But full

To the top,

Like a big dollop of cream,

You extra- bless me,

Giving me more and more

My cup overflows,

Of tea,

And You,

Your love

Pouring out all over me.

And here I sit,

And filled,

And satisfied,

For I have found,

To be,

My very best

Cup of tea!

Psalm 145:16

You open your hand and satisfy the desires of every living thing

Psalm 90:15

Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.

Isaiah 58:11

The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.

1Timothy 1:14

The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.
