Coffee for Your Heart- Forever Song

Year of Spark gesso-1

Forever Song

By Susie Teramura

You are good,

And kind,

In all You do,

And I will forever sing

Of my love for You.

You are strong,

And steady,

And true.

Careful, attentive,

You know

just what to do.

You are perfect,

And lovely.

And all that I want,

All that my heart desires,

Is wrapped up in

All that You are.

So when

I see beauty,

Light dancing

On a rippled lake,

And smell the lilac

In full bloom,

I am really

Seeing and singing

Songs of You,

Breathing in and breathing out

Your beautiful grace.

Is spilling about.

You are

More satisfying

Than Grandma’s

Chocolate cake,

More comfortable,

Than that old chair,

More comforting,

Than a warm,

cup of tea,

You are

more beautiful

Than pink peonies in

a pottery pitcher,

More gentle

Than a quiet spring breeze,

And more loving than a mama’s

And softly,

You wrap me up

In Your strong arms

You carry me,

And my load.

You are

My father, my daddy,

My brother,

My friend.

You are high above,

And at the same time,

Dwell within.

How can this be?

And so, forever

And ever,

I will sing

Of my love

For You.

John 14:16

16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be[c] in you. 18 I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.

 Mark 3:35

Whoever does God’s will is my brother and sister and mother.”

 Galatians 4:6

Because you are his sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, “Abba, Father.”

I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.

  1. Susie,
Lilacs and peonies and Grandma’s chocolate cake! So many of your memories sound like mine! I’m wondering if you grew up near me (I’m originally from Pittsburgh) but oh how comforting those things are! Peonies are rare in Florida and they are my absolute favorite flower since my mother had a little garden of them when I grew up. I’m so grateful that God does carry us and he is more than all of our favorite things put together! Love this Susie! 🙂

    1. Valerie- I have thought the same thing as I have read your blog! I grew up in Virginia, but I feel like we are kindreds and so thankful I have met you through blogging! Your posts always speak to my heart. Peonies are one of my favorite flowers- they smell so good and are just so big and beautiful. sending hugs tonight!

      1. Susie,
Maybe western Virginia where Pennsylvania is closer to your border?! 🙂 Yes, I do feel as if we are kindreds as our thoughts are often along the same line but you express them much more beautifully with your poetry! 🙂

  2. My parents are from upstate NY and I spent summers and lots of time there- 🙂 God is so wonderful to confirm His words like this! I am so grateful 🙂 You are such a gifted writer, photographer and home decorator-and I am thinking cook too!!! Looking forward to hearing about your summer trip too and seeing it through your eyes and words 🙂
