Spring Rain
By Susie Teramura
You know
The words
I need to hear,
The ones
That fall
Like a gentle
Spring rain,
Collecting in
The gutters of my soul,
Traveling down
And dropping into
My dry places
My cracks,
Places hard,
And thirsty,
Open.
So I wait,
In the morning quiet,
Wait,
To hear
From You, for
You speak
A better word,
A word that
Brings life,
And hope,
And peace.
And gently words
Collect
In puddles,
Soaking slow
Into deep places,
And like a precious
Fragrant oil
Your words coat
My soul,
Healing me,
And making me whole.
Psalm 119:103
How sweet are your words to my taste,
sweeter than honey to my mouth!
Proverbs 16:24
Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.
Isaiah 58:8
Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear; then your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard.
Psalm 30:2
Lord my God, I called to you for help, and you healed me.
Beautiful. Simply beautiful. I feel like I was pour over with His oil of gladness as I read your words Susie.
Hi Susan- I am so glad! Thanks for visiting me today!- You blessed me 🙂
Susie,
I love it when God is drawing my attention to something — this is the second time today I read the verse, “How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey . .. ” I want to fill up my mind with his words so those are the ones swirling through my mind today! How right you are when our souls are filled up with his words, they coat us, heal us and make us whole. Simply beautiful!
Yes I want so badly His thoughts to be there mostly instead of intermittently! Guess it is practice and a learned habit too? -So glad to know the He is speaking to your heart today. Happy to connect with you today!! always a treasure- 🙂
Your words are always balm to my soul – fragrant with love.
Hi Elaine- Thanks so much for visiting me! So glad to visit with you today. Sending hugs
