Coffee for Your Heart- Come as You Are

Come as You Are

By Susie Teramura

I want my words

To dance across

The page

Beautiful,

Like a song

Forgetting all,

Just pure

Love spilled out,

Lavishly.

And like steps,

To string them

Together,

Until they lead

Me to joy and

To a place where

All I can hear

Is the music

Of your sweet love,

Playing loud

Over me.

I want my words

To dance across

The page

As is,

Because that‘s

What you want,

Me,

As is,

You say, ”Come as you are

Not as you wish you were,

Our how you think you should be,

Just come,

Come as you are.”

And as this settles in

And finds it way

Around my heart,

I feel my load lightened,

My burden lifted,

My sadness begins to go,

As I let myself believe

You love me so.

So I will let my words

Dance across

The page

Unashamed

Unafraid

No longer scared,

Knowing You are

The one

I will find

Waiting there.

Psalm 42:8

“But each day the Lord pours his unfailing love upon me, and through each night I sing his songs, praying to God who gives me life.”

Psalm 45:1

“Beautiful words stir my heart. I will recite a lovely poem about the king, for my tongue is like the pen of a skillful poet.”

Jeremiah31:4

“I will rebuild you….. You will again be happy and dance.”

  1. Susie,
When I saw the pretty teacup with your post, it looked like it coordinated with mine today! 🙂 Oh I how I need your words this week — “your load lightened” as we come to him and find our rest and solace in God. Somehow this week has been difficult (and we’re only midway through!) but I love coming here and find your peaceful words to reflect on as I head out to start another day — always encouraged here, my friend! 🙂

    1. Valerie- I am so glad were encouraged- I am sorry your week has been hard so far :(- I am having a rough week in many ways too- and I think I write to tell myself the true things I desperately need my heart to hold on to and to really hear- So thankful for my sisters in Christ like you who keep reminding me too! What a gift! 🙂 Praying your load will lift and you will feel His presence close 🙂

  2. Susie,

    Blessings,
    Bev
