Coffee for Your Heart- Cider for my Soul

Painting fall - leaf

Coffee for Your Heart-Cider to My Soul

By Susie Teramura

Driving through

Brown leaves falling,

Thinking about

The wonder

Of it

The dead

Coming down,

The change,

Of weather,

Of seasons.

The bittersweet

Of time and things

Passing,

Thoughts catch on

That word,

Change….

Not My favorite,

Packed with

Goodbyes and risk

And the unknown

Staring me

In the face,

But then I hear

Your hushed words

As they fall

On my heart

Slow and gentle

They settle in,

“It’s the change

The movement

That’s where

Life is.

Living things

Grow,

And move

And become.

It’s only the dead

That stands still

Stagnant, lifeless with

A stench all its own.

I have come

To give you life,

Ever changing

And growing

And becoming

LIFE.

Hold up your cup

I will fill it

With water

Overflowing,

Water alive

And the things

That you

Have lost,

That make

You sad,

Will be restored,

And built upon

Ten fold.

My joy is

To give to you

In Abundance

And in love

Pouring it into

Your empty

Over and over

And over again

Filling every crack

Every crevice with

More love

More of Me,

There’s no risk

You see,

I give you all

You need

All of me.

Be brave,

 Dearest one

And just Receive”

Pulling into the driveway,

Putting thoughts away

Tucking them

Into my heart

To savor and mull

Like warm cider to my soul.

The crisp air

Hits my check

And I see them

Belly laughing

In raked up mountains

Throwing up

Dead leaves

Showing me the way

To the present

Beauty ,

To finding ,

Life

And Joy,

And You.

John 10:10 (NIV)

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

Revelation 7:17 (NIV)

For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; ‘he will lead them to springs of living water.’ ‘And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.’”
