Coffee for Your Heart- Thanksgiving

By Susie Teramura

I will

Bless You,

Thank You,

For all You

Have done,

And all that

You are.

You, beautiful one

Wrap Your

Love around

Me like a

Cloak of golden

Dawn, new

And fresh.

You, holy one

Dress me in

These robes

Of righteousness

Bought with

The highest price,

The precious

Red blood

Of Your only son,

Your heart of love

Bleeding out

All over me

And now,

I am forever

As Your own,

Forever sought after,

Forever wanted,

Loved and accepted,

Forever part

Of the family,

At the table,

A part of You.

And the rest,

It’s history.

What’s ahead

for me,

Is life with You,

Life in You.

And nothing

Can separate,

Nothing can

Nothing can be

Too much,

Too far,

Too bad,

Too messy,

Because You said

It doesn’t depend

On me,
It is resting

On You.

You are

The one with

The plan

And You

Are the one

Working it out,

In me and

For me.

So here I sit,

Perfectly loved,

Cared for,

Heard and seen,

And in it floods,

Like the morning sun,

Breaking free

From the clouds

That hid it

My heart welling up,

In thanksgiving.

Isaiah 61:10

I delight greatly in the Lord; my soul rejoices in my God. For he has clothed me with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a robe of his righteousness, as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.

Girl with Ear Muffs

Girl with ear muffs

It is  getting cold and is supposed to snow here tomorrow( 🙂 ) and I thought this might be a good picture to post. I did this picture in a class Carla taught called Faces. I really enjoyed it and learned a lot. This was done with water soluble crayons and pen.  Next week, I hope I will be able to post some pictures of our last fairytale,( :(!! hard to believe!!). This week I worked on my  fall watercolor class. My latest painting is in this weeks Coffee for Your Heart post!

Coffee for Your Heart- Cider for my Soul

Painting fall - leaf

Coffee for Your Heart-Cider to My Soul

By Susie Teramura

Driving through

Brown leaves falling,

Thinking about

The wonder

Of it

The dead

Coming down,

The change,

Of weather,

Of seasons.

The bittersweet

Of time and things

Thoughts catch on

That word,

Not My favorite,

Packed with

Goodbyes and risk

And the unknown

Staring me

In the face,

But then I hear

Your hushed words

As they fall

On my heart

Slow and gentle

They settle in,

“It’s the change

The movement

That’s where

Life is.

Living things

And move

And become.

It’s only the dead

That stands still

Stagnant, lifeless with

A stench all its own.

I have come

To give you life,

Ever changing

And growing

And becoming

Hold up your cup

I will fill it

With water

Water alive

And the things

That you

Have lost,

That make

You sad,

Will be restored,

And built upon

Ten fold.

My joy is

To give to you

In Abundance

And in love

Pouring it into

Your empty

Over and over

And over again

Filling every crack

Every crevice with

More love

More of Me,

There’s no risk

You see,

I give you all

You need

All of me.

Be brave,

 Dearest one

And just Receive”

Pulling into the driveway,

Putting thoughts away

Tucking them

Into my heart

To savor and mull

Like warm cider to my soul.

The crisp air

Hits my check

And I see them

Belly laughing

In raked up mountains

Throwing up

Dead leaves

Showing me the way

To the present

Beauty ,

To finding ,

And Joy,

And You.

John 10:10 (NIV)

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

Revelation 7:17 (NIV)

For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; ‘he will lead them to springs of living water.’ ‘And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.’”

Coffee for your Heart- Forevermore

 By Susie Teramura

Tiny kiss on the lips

Leg over leg, she hops

Back in bed.

“Are you scared mommy?”

Reassuringly, I say

“What are you

Scared of,” she presses,

“Snakes and spiders?”

And I quiet

To think,

And my thoughts

Continue on

A conversation

With myself,

No, I guess

I am not

Really afraid of

Snakes and spiders.

Not really,

The fears now,

After having birthed

Precious ones

From my heart,

Run deeper

Through veins

Pumping hard.

Glancing over

At her sweet eyes

Closing slow

Thoughts press in,

Silently, it surfaces,

That fear,

The one that

Keeps me up,

My cheeks pink

And I whisper

Under my breath

“Loosing you

My sweet one, ”

That’s the reality

The pit in my stomach

The chain around my neck

The thought that haunts and

Runs me around

Causing me to be

So, Careful.

Then You speak

Straight to my heart

Strong but gentle,

“She is mine-

I’ve got her

In my able hands

And she will be there

Far after yours

Can hold her

No longer.

So Rest,

Dear one, rest

On this promise

I am your Father

Chasing hard

After you ,

And one day

I will gather

My children

And we will

All of us-

My Family and Me,

And the rejoicing,

It will be great,

As we look

Upon each other

With the knowing,

That never again

Will we be apart

Never, ever

Will we have

To bear

Roads that separate,

Cords that tear

And goodbyes

That feel so permanent,

In me,

What’s permanent

Are your names

Tattooed on my hand

In me,

What’s permanent

Are your places

At My table

Your names

On My door.

So precious one

Rest those fears

In my outstretched arms

Let me

Have their weight

I’ve got this

I’ve got her

I’ve got you

I’m here.

God with

She breathes hard now,

Fears released,

Rest settles

Like the evening dew,

And I realize

We are truly,

In love

by you.

John 14:3

And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.

Isaiah 49:16

See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me.

Magic Narwhal

Narwhal cropped Narwhal word cropped

Carla is making another E-zine. It is based on the fairytale we did last month called The Magic Horse. She asked us to participate. We had to chose and animal and make up something magical that it could do. Then we had to write the animal’s name on another sheet of paper in a similar style. Lastly we had to add our own text to a fill in the blank sentence she gave us. Mine was;

The Magic Narwhal is magic because when he comes up out of the water he spouts rainbow glitter high into the air causing all those around him to sparkle! The Magic Narwhal then swirls down into the deep blue water and turns into a magic

She is then going to make this all into a really cute book, or E-zine- Stay tuned for the link!

Coffee for Your Heart- All I Need

By Susie Teramura

You, beautiful one

Are all I desire

All I want

All I need.

No one in

All the earth

Is like you,

With love

And compassion.

Your kindness

Will never

Ever, end.

You see

The unseen

And love

The unloved.

You are Father

To the fatherless

You fill

The empty

Bring light

When it’s dark

You are

In all your works,

And You

Are working

On my behalf.

You are

For me

Not against.

You never fail

You have never,

And will never,

Make a mistake,

Slip up or

Make a bad choice,

And so,

I can put

All of my trust,

The whole of it,

Completely and

Confidently in you.

You are

Always right,

And always working

For my good

And your glory.

Your love for me

Never, ever ends,

And the best part is

The grace part,

That it doesn’t

Depend on me,

My performance, or

How well I behave.

You are forever and always

Loving me.

To death

And back again.

You, beautiful one

Are all to me.

Psalm 42:2

My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God?
