Coffee For your Heart- A Small Thing that Made a Big Difference.

Coffee For Your Heart- A Small Thing that Made a Big Difference.

By Susie

A small thing –

Tiny, minute

Crystalline beauty.

Carved like lace,

Sits quiet on

My cable knit mitten

White against the red

It catches my eye

My mind slows.

Tracing the beauty

In perfect rhythm.

What kind of God

Are you?

Who cares about details

So small

Decorating each one

Uniquely,

Never before done.

Details never seen piled high,

Slung with shovels,

Packed into snowballs and

Made into men with carrot noses.

Only noticed by

The few who are looking

Am I looking?

Am I counting, and seeing,

Receiving and living

All the details

That have been

Fashioned

In me and

For me

For joy?

What kind of God

are you?

Who cares

About my details, messy,

Who sees me?

and stops

and stoops

down to

the very smallest detail

 to display

His love

and care.

Making big, the small

Undoing and redoing

Restoring and redeeming

Making

things new.

Providing everything

for my enjoyment,

For -My -Joy.

Snowflakes small,

fall big,

land soft and settle

in my heart.

 1 Timothy 6:17

“….put your hope in God who richly provides you with everything for your enjoyment.”

  1. This is so beautiful; I’m sorry that winter snow is probably over and now I know I need red mittens too! You have a wonderful gift. Thank you for taking me into the wonderful spaces your words create.
